I feel like the Spring and summer are always such a happy and busy time, and I've realized that a lot of that feeling for me comes from my family. I have a very large extended family with tons of cousins and it seems like on any given weekend one of them is having a bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, engagement party... you get the idea! And this year is no exception. Not only do I get to work with some awesome brides, but two of them this season are my own sweet cousins and I could not be more proud, excited, honored, and thrilled for them and to get to be a special part of their special day! My cousin Allie has always been a bit like a little sister to me, and so to see her all grown up and getting married...! I am over the moon! It's been so fun hearing about her experiences, talking about boys and dating, and now to see her so happy with the love of her life is incredible! Allie and Tom actually met in school. Tom was my cousin Connor's best friend until he fell for his little sister, Allie. Just kidding, that makes it sound bad- they're still great friends! They dated on and off and hung out as friends for quite a while, both served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and stayed close through all the ups and downs along the way!
For their engagements, I actually drove all the way from Orem to Logan to get some fun shots of them up where Allie's been attending University, but for their formals we went to Memory Grove Park near Temple Square in Salt Lake. It was such a beautiful day when we did it. At first I was worried, because when we got there I realized local prom was happening the same evening and there were high schoolers everywhere getting their pictures taken too! But by the time the bride and groom arrived, luckily things were settling down a bit. We did a first look, and it was so cute to see how excited and emotional Tom was to see Allie all done up in her wedding dress. And to be honest, I can't blame him, because it makes me a little emotional to, seeing this girl all grown up and beautiful!
This summer before the wedding they are going to Boston to work together with Allie's brother and when they get back I get to be a first time bridesmaid at the wedding! I am so excited, I can't wait!
