Hanna + Lukas

Just like any other jobs, there are days as a photographer where things can sometimes feel mundane. But then there are other days when you literally get lost behind the lens in the moment unfolding in front of you.

This engagement shoot with Hanna and Lukas was definitely one of the latter! You know those couples that are just so in love and lost in each other that everyone around them gets a little bit lost too? The ones that make you pine for love and romance and all the happily-ever-after, feel good vibes? Or as Diane Barrows would say, the ones that have exude "that can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars over the fence, world series kind of love." (shout out to all of the 90's kids who loved It Takes Two as much as I did!)

I usually don't do this, but I actually met Lukas and Hanna for the first time when we did this shoot, and they were such a joy to work with, and I couldn't help but share more of the gushy, happy, good stuff with all of you! So enjoy!

A lot of times when I shoot I like to use either multiple outfits, or multiple locations in one so I get a great variety of options, looks and styles for the couple to use for different things. With this shoot, I was lucky enough to get both! Before the shoot, Hanna and I had been texting back and forth about different locations options.

At first they were thinking they might want the Great Saltair, where I did another engagement shoot, but then Hanna got the idea to do it in a greenhouse-and I'm so glad she did!

had never shot in a greenhouse before, but I am now a huge fan!

After deciding on a greenhouse location the couple loved in Salt Lake, they found out they weren't super on board with photographers, and we thought their dreams might be crushed. But, lucky for them- dreams do come true!

Before deciding on a greenhouse, we had also thrown around the idea of doing the castle and orchard at the Utah State Hospital, and it turns out they have a greenhouse too! And, despite not normally allowing photography there, they were willing to work with us to make this couple's (and photographer's) dreams come true!

The morning of the shoot we were able to get the greenhouse and orchard, with spectacular results (if I do say so myself!) and this has officially become one of my favorite engagement sessions thus far!

Thanks Hanna and Lukas for letting me be a small part of your special day!
